Filament Quartet

Filament Quartet are based in Boston, MA. All four members met in college and have - a year after graduating - spent a year quarantined in and out of studios and empty spaces, exploring different modalities of performance and experimentation.
Scott Leung, Kathleen Myers and Joshua Briggs all met in the percussion ensemble at Boston University. Joshua's sister Amy caught up with them shortly thereafter, adding string instruments and other production. During the Covid19 pandemic, the group concentrated on recording rather than live performance, which resulted in a non-traditional approach to composition through electronics. With this in mind, the studio itself became another member of the group.
